Our assessment appointment is designed to give you a clear, honest picture of a watch — not to lead you toward further paid work. The written report stands on its own and sometimes concludes that no service is required.

Caliber-specific technique
Work methods, lubrication choice, and parts handling are selected for the specific caliber family and period. A generic service schedule does not suit every movement, and we do not apply one.

Post-service observation period
After reassembly, the watch is kept on the timing machine for a further observation period to confirm that rate stability has been achieved across multiple positions. It is not returned until that confirmation is made.

Eighteen years of mechanical movement experience
The workshop's head technician has been working with mechanical calibers since 2006, with a particular depth of knowledge in pre-quartz-era Swiss movements and mid-century Japanese automatics. That kind of specific experience is not easily transferred or quickly built.
The workshop team does not take on every type of watch. We are direct about the pieces we are best suited to work with, and we will say so before any work is agreed.

Equipment
Tools chosen for accuracy, not appearance
The workshop uses proper horological equipment — not adapted general-purpose tools. A timing machine gives objective rate data that eye and ear cannot. Ultrasonic cleaning reaches parts of a movement that manual cleaning cannot. These are practical choices, not marketing points.
Rate data from the timing machine is shared with the owner as part of the written record for every service.

Transparent pricing with no hidden steps
Our three services each carry a fixed price, published on this site. The assessment is priced at ฿2,700, the caliber refresh at ฿6,100, and the heritage restoration at ฿7,800. If something found during work would require additional expense, we contact you before it is undertaken.
The assessment appointment is not a loss-leader — it is a service in its own right. The advice you receive is not shaped by whether you choose to proceed with further work.
All prices are fixed for the service as described. Additional work is only undertaken with prior discussion and agreement.

The small reference folder prepared for heritage restoration work is not a generic service summary. It contains specific findings from period catalogues and archive material — references that took time to locate and are not routinely assembled by repair workshops.
Assessment that recommends against work
We will conclude an assessment by recommending that nothing be done if the movement is running within acceptable range and shows no mechanical concerns. This is an unusual position for a service workshop to hold, and it is one we maintain consistently.

The service approach is not standard across all watches. What a mid-century Longines movement requires differs from what a 1980s Seiko automatic needs. We match the work to the caliber family, not to a fixed procedure.
